Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. She first made screen appearances in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film Sex Traffic where she received the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. The actress speaks French, German, English and Romanian proficiently. Her mother is an accomplished musician. Her father is an actor and theater instructor at one Romania's leading acting schools. "The Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her an European Shooting Star in 2008. Aside from her performance in her maiden film the actress is also remembered for role in the Romanian art film 4 Months 3 weeks and 2 Days which won her several laurels including the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She was an actress from Romania in Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's 4 luni3 two days (four months three weeks and 2 three weeks and two days) and was presented with an award of the Palme d'Or and other prizes at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, she was a part in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. She also played Yasim Awar in BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. She later had a prominent performance in the 2014 film Fury where she played a German woman named Irma aunt of Emma.
